Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Speech therapy can help children and teens who have difficulty expressing their thoughts, understanding directions or questions, speaking clearly, telling stories, navigating conversations, or building friendships. For younger children, concerns might include delayed talking, difficulty combining words, or frustration when communicating. For older children and teens, challenges may become more noticeable as language, social, and academic demands increase.
ASHA milestones can be a helpful reference, but you don’t need to wait for your child to fall significantly behind before asking for support. Still wondering? Reach out!

Autism can look different in every child and teen. Some may repeat phrases, have intense interests, prefer familiar routines, or experience sensory differences. Others may have advanced language or academic skills but find conversations, friendships, or social situations challenging. These differences can be subtle and may become more noticeable as social and academic expectations increase.
A developmental evaluation can help families better understand their child or teen's unique strengths, challenges, and needs. Tully Speech & Language partners with a local psychologist to provide comprehensive, collaborative autism and ADHD evaluations that are accessible, individualized, and family-centered.
